  • We draw from evidence-based & emotional approaches to couples therapy:

    1. We draw from the Gottman Method, an approach that helps couples understand conflict patterns, build friendship, and increase emotional intimacy. Learn to turn toward each other-even when things get hard.

    2. We help you explore your Attachment Styles and understand how early relational patterns shape current dynamics- so you can create a more secure, trusting bond with your partner.

    3. We talk openly about the Mental and Emotional Labor of relationships-like invisible household work, emotional caretaking, and decision fatigue. Learn how to create a more equitable, respectful partnership.

    4. We practice self-soothing and co-regulating through Mindfulness and Somatic Therapy. Learn to stay present with each other, regulate your nervous systems during disagreements, and connect on a deeper, more embodied level.

  • No- Insurance companies require a diagnosis for one partner-labeling them as the “identified patient”-in order to cover therapy. But in couples work, we don’t view one person as the problem. Instead, we focus on the relationship as a whole and the patterns that shape how you connect, communicate, and navigate challenges together.

Because of this relational approach, we do not bill insurance for couples or relationship therapy. However, we do offer a sliding scale for couples who need financial support-please reach out to discuss your options.

    • For Pre-Commitment Therapy: Expect 5-8 sessions done at your pace

    • For Short-Term Couples Therapy, you can expect 4-6 sessions that are each one or two weeks apart

    • For Long-Term Couples Therapy, you can expect weekly sessions for 2-3 months, then biweekly or monthly sessions

You’ll have the option for continued support from your therapist, whether it’s a monthly check-in or sessions as-needed, you’ll have us to lean on in the next stages of your relationship.

  • Sessions are available both in-person at our welcoming Ferndale office and via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth for any couple in Michigan.
