Therapy Fees

Individual Therapy with Caitie

  • First 55 minute session: $180

  • Each following 55 minute session: $155

  • In-Network Insurances: Blue Cross Blue Shied, Blue Care Network, Priority Health & Medicaid

Couples Therapy with Caitie

  • 90 minute session: $255

  • Payment Options: Self-Pay Only

  • The type of couples therapy that I specialize in focuses on BOTH partners and sessions are 90 minutes. This type of therapy is not covered by health insurance. This is why I offer a generous sliding scale (10%-30% reduced cost) for couples therapy

  • Sliding scale is offered for couples demonstrating financial need; rate is privately discussed with therapist

  • Your health insurance may cover couple/family therapy sessions if treatment is focused on one person’s diagnosed mental health concern, and sessions are generally 30-50 minutes- I do not specialize in this type of couples therapy.

Ways to Pay for Therapy

  • It is your responsibility to learn your benefits and pay any out-of-pocket costs [just like you would with any other healthcare provider].

You can call your insurance company or visit their website to learn about your benefits.

A good question to ask: Does my deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance apply to behavioral health [codes 90837 and 90834]?

If you want to move forward with using insurance to pay for individual therapy, be sure to upload photos of the front and back of your insurance card AND an official ID (i.e. Driver’s License) to the client portal.

If you have an HSA of FSA, you CAN use these funds to pay for individual therapy expenses, but NOT for late cancellation fees.

  • If you are covered by any other insurance besides BCBSM PPO, BCN, Priority Health, or Medicaid, you may qualify for reimbursement from your insurance company if you have Out-of-Network benefits for behavioral health.

You can call your insurance company or visit their website to learn about your benefits.

If you choose to move forward with this payment type for individual therapy, you will pay session fees at the time of service, then submit invoices to your insurance company for partial reimbursement. These invoices are provided to you by your therapist.

If you have an HSA of FSA, you can use these funds to pay for individual therapy expenses, but NOT for late cancellation fees.

  • If you have decided that you would like to move forward with therapy without using insurance, you will pay session fees at the time of service using a credit or debit card.

Sliding scales are available for all services. Up to 25% of my caseload is dedicated to reduced fee services.

Our goal is to be transparent about therapy fees and payment types so that you can make the best decision for YOU. Therapy is an investment in your mental health and can have a true impact on your quality of life. With that being said, we realize that not everyone can afford to pay for therapy out-of-pocket for a variety of reasons. To account for that, we offer sliding scale options for both Individual and Couples Therapy and work with insurance providers to reduce out-of-pocket costs to you.

If you decide that none of the payment options at Middle Way Wellness are suitable for you right now, we’ve listed free and low cost therapy options on our Resources Page.
